Whitman Ranch raises and finishes grass fed cattle quietly in an area of many different soils and terrains. We have many acres of native grass and many more acres of tame grass pasture and cropland which is rotated through organic crops and hay sweet enough for finishing cattle.
We cross Piedmontese bulls with charolais cows for Lone Creek Cattle Company. This cross makes lean and tender beef.
The red angus herd is finished on grass and hay using no cereal grains. Studies show grass-fed beef is higher in CLA, Omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin E than grain-fed beef.
Both herds are hormone-free and only sold into specialty markets if they remain antibiotic-free.
